Job Title:  Bookseller

Job Summary:

We are currently seeking a Bookseller to support the Bookstore Manager in their day-to-day activities, help lead a team of 4-20 volunteers per shift, and provide coverage when the Bookstore Manager is absent.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist in Handling and Processing Donations:

    • Accept, sort & evaluate incoming donations

    • Price, shelve, organize, alphabetize & straighten books

  • Assist in Volunteer Coordination:

    • Oversee volunteers & coordinate with Bookstore Manager regarding store’s immediate needs & priorities, delegate daily job duties

    • Provide orientation & training for new volunteers

    • Problem-solve when issues arise

  • Assist in Opening & Closing Store:

    • Prepare store for the day

    • Record all cash register sales & transactions at end of day

  • Operate cash register & assist customers

  • Keep abreast of current events / bestsellers / literary trends to highlight fresh and interesting materials to help develop content for social media

  • Answer phones (general information, donation requirements, book requests, etc.)

Salary: $15-18/hr (commensurate with experience)

Typical Work Hours & Days: Monday, Thursday, Friday &/or Saturday - 8 hour shift

Job Type: Part-time & Full-Time positions available
